Jeffrey R. Immelt is an American business executive. Immelt joined GE in 1982, working in General Electric’s plastics, appliances, and healthcare businesses. In 1997, he became CEO of GE’s Medical Systems until 2001, when he took over as CEO of GE from 2001 to 2017. He was the Executives’ Club of Chicago’s 2005 International Executive of the Year.
