Internship Overview:

The Executives’ Club of Chicago internship program provides the opportunity for current college students to gain unparalleled experience with the city’s premier business forum. Interns will work closely with Exec Club staff on executing a variety of tasks to support our programming, partnerships, membership, and our overall engagement strategy with the region’s business leaders. The ideal candidates for the program are students with an interest in the operations of a non-profit organization and desire to learn more about Chicago’s business community.

Internship opportunities are available to support the following departments:

  • Content and Communications
  • Leadership Development
  • Membership
  • Partnerships

Potential intern tasks include:

  • Draft content materials for events, such as agendas, discussion questions, and/or remarks
  • Research speaker leads and topic ideas, and maintain a database of potential topics and speakers for future events
  • Draft social media posts and other marketing materials to promote Exec Club members and events
  • Draft template letters for upcoming Exec Club programs that will help to drive ticket and table sales for potential attendees
  • Collaborate with the communications and content team for all digital material and event updates on the website
  • Liaise with the membership team to support member recruitment and engagement efforts
  • Familiarize yourself with our current membership database to understand who our members are and what non-member companies would be a good fit for membership
  • Assist in potential new member research – conduct research on various industries and potential member companies, and C-Suite leaders would be right for membership
  • Assist in the recruitment of new members, prepare materials for pitch calls
  • Solicit member feedback on programming and member benefits – create reports on continuous improvement opportunities for member benefits
  • Research of potential sponsor leads for the Exec Club’s partnership team as they relate to specific events
  • Develop and maintain an ongoing database of corporations that could serve as potential sponsorship leads
  • Research and update Exec Club staff with any relevant Chicago corporations and business news
  • Serve as a strategic thought partner for the Exec Club’s staff – help determine and develop ways for corporate partners to engage in specific programs, based on their industry, clients, and/or corporate initiatives
  • Provide day-of support (as available) for events – tasks to include assistance with badges, general event set-up, greeting of guests, etc
  • Attend and participate in departmental and internal staff meetings
  • Administrative tasks and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Willingness to experiment, to learn quickly, and to be creative
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to handle several tasks in varying stages of development
  • Capacity to work independently, including prioritization of tasks and self-management
  • Exceptional writing skills and willingness to use them
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office suite
  • Eagerness to work in a team environment
  • Must have at least one business outfit for attendance at Exec Club programs

Hours: 8-16 hours/ week. Schedule TBD upon placement
Term: Ongoing Opportunities. Summer, Fall Semester, or Spring semester duration
Rate: School credit when applicable
