The Exec Club is the nexus of Chicago’s business community, where passionate leaders, bold ideas and extraordinary opportunities come together. For over a century, we have worked to transform our city into the global economic center it is today, while challenging the next generation of leaders to redefine the business world of tomorrow.

Through our signature series programs, forums, leadership development, and member events, we bring together business, civic and academic leaders from all industries to discuss issues and opportunities affecting business in Chicago and the world.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Content & Communications Manager will be an integral part of the Content & Communications division. This individual should be well-versed in speaker recruitment, communications strategies, event logistics and a great writer. The goal, and primary purpose of this position is to deliver effective messages to various stakeholders to ensure stakeholder engagement with the Club.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage & Program The Signature Series

  • o Manage speaker outreach by cultivating relationships with corporate communications leaders and publishing representatives
  • Manage Contracts for Speakers
  • Work closely with the Digital Marketing Manager around promotional deadlines
  • Craft interview guides, program descriptions and speaker research for Signature Series
  • Schedule prep calls and logistics around the programs
  • Draft Media Advisories for the Signature Series
  • Be able to lift items and stand on their feet for a duration of time at a half day program

Manage & Program The Quarterly Women’s Leadership Exchange (WLE)

  • Source venue and manage all logistical aspects of each event
  • Liaise with Chief Content and Communications Officer on developing presentation topic and sourcing speakers for each program
  • Ensure that all WLE operate with the approved budget; identify shortfalls and provide action plans as needed
  • Be a point of contact for speakers and sponsors
  • Handle necessary administrative duties such as booking pre-event calls, creating agendas for those calls
  • Create any digital or printed marketing materials for WLE
  • Staff all WLE events and coordinate any needed support from other Exec Club Staff during and leading up to each event
  • Manage back-end event registration and activation on our CRM system (netforum)
  • Be able to lift items and stand on their feet for a duration of time at a half day program

Manage & Program The Executives’ Exchange Podcast

  • Craft interview guides, program descriptions and speaker research for Podcast
  • Manage relationship with outside tech consultant and Zencastr
  • Manage outreach for podcasts and work closely with the digital communications manager around promotional activities

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Marketing, Business, or related area preferred
  • Excellent project management skills
  • Obsessed with details. Mistakes rarely happen
  • Outgoing, positive professional with the ability to work well in a collaborative, team-oriented and fast-paced environment
  • Strong organizational, written & verbal communication skills
  • Has a pulse on current business trends and offers ideas for the organization’s line-up
