The Executives’ Club is Chicago’s premier membership organization and business forum. The Exec Club is a valued resource for Chicago’s business leaders – connecting members, providing opportunities for strategic relationship development, and enhancing exposure to the global business community thought leadership. Exec Club membership is composed of senior level executives, including significant representation among CEOs of multinational corporations headquartered in the region, as well as professionals from Chicagoland’s business, civic, and academic communities. Founded in 1911, the Exec Club is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious business organizations.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Associate Director of Partnerships is responsible for supporting the Chief Partnership Officer in cultivating, soliciting, securing, and stewarding corporate sponsorship of Exec Club events, programming, and initiatives. This position plays an integral role in business development and external relations. As an excellent communicator and detail-oriented account manager, this person ensures all corporate partners receive the best-in-class experience as sponsors of the Exec Club.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Manage a portfolio of ~40 sustaining corporate partner relationships, ensuring consistent communication and thoughtful engagement though the following:

Engagement

  • Develop sponsorship packages, create new pitch materials and prepare sponsorship decks
  • Manage and grow a prospect pipeline for season sponsors; Proactively approach new sponsors; Coordinate with the Membership team to identify enterprise members for upgrade to sponsorship
  • Conduct midyear and end of year check-ins to identify partner interest and increase engagement
  • Identify and resolve sponsor related conflicts and challenges in a timely manner
  • Monitor sponsorship trends and work closely with the Chief Partnership Officer to generate new benefits, engagement opportunities, and experiences
  • Execute comprehensive sponsor stewardship program in tandem with the Chief Partnership Officer
  • Actively build relationships with the corporate community

Activation

  • Work collaboratively with the Content and Events teams to identify opportunities for corporate partners to integrate into events from thought leadership to onsite activation
  • Collaborate with companies and community organizations to create unique experiences and onsite activations that enhance Exec Club events and programming
  • Plan and execute special events for partners such as dinners, receptions, and roundtables

Account Management

  • Manage sponsor brand placement for accuracy including onsite, print and digital communications
  • Track sponsor benefit fulfillment for all corporate partners and ensure execution of deliverables
  • Track financial commitments and manage sponsor invoicing, agreements, and contracts
  • Design and prepare midyear reports and annual fulfillment reports
  • Create and send sponsor communications including monthly event guides, special updates, invitations, etc
  • Manage sponsorship tracker with administrative coordinator and ensure coordination
  • Oversee sponsor-related table sales for special events and coordinate guest registrations with administrative team

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in any area of study but preferable business or marketing
  • 5+ years of work experience, ideally in sponsorship, events, business development, or marketing
  • Professional demeanor and ability to interface with all levels of clients, including C-Suite executives
  • Proficient in MS Office and have knowledge of ABILA CRM or other membership database software
  • Strong organizational, written & verbal communication skills
  • Able to handle multiple projects in varying stages of development and meet deadlines
  • Able to work well with others in a small, fast-paced team oriented environment
  • Highly developed customer service orientation and skills
  • Candidate must be willing to attend and help with morning programs and evening receptions
