O’Hare Flyer: Chicago’s 15-Minute Connection to the World

For decades, Chicago has dreamed about a faster ride between O’Hare International Airport and downtown. Decades of dreaming, zero minutes shaved off the trip — until possibly now.

The proposed O’Hare Flyer would change the math: a 15-minute ride between downtown Chicago and O’Hare’s Terminal 2, with battery-electric trains running every 15 minutes. It’s privately financed, built on existing freight rail corridors, and designed around one job: getting travelers where they’re going, fast. Developers say construction could start as early as 2028, with trains running within five years.

In this virtual briefing, the leaders behind the O’Hare Flyer will explain the thinking, the build, the financing, and what it could mean for Chicago — it’s residents, businesses, visitors, and standing on the world stage.
