The Executives' Club Of Chicago

Signature Programs

The Executives’ Club delivers an extensive portfolio of events each season. Presentations made by influential global leaders feature topics reflecting current business and economic trends and best practices that respond to the interests of the business community. These programs are identified as a series: Global Leaders, Chicago CEO, Women's Leadership, Business Technology Leadership, Innovation, and the Annual Economic Outlook.

Global Leaders Series

One of the nation’s premier speakers’ forums, the Global Leaders series provides members and guests with unprecedented access to political, policy, corporate and institutional leaders whose expertise and insight shape business around the world. Held throughout the year, and many in conjunction with The Club’s active forums, these live programs target a diverse range of industries and explore topics chosen for their relevance to current and future global trends. The series recently featured John Noseworthy, M.D., president and CEO of Mayo Clinic, as well as Brian Cornell, chairman and CEO of Target.

Chicago CEO Series

The Club uses this quarterly series to give Chicago area CEOs a platform for sharing relevant and unique stories, strategies and successes. These sessions showcase the Chicago companies you want to know more about, to hear about their best practices and innovative strategies. The events also provide an opportunity for attendees to develop strategic relationships with top area executives during the networking session. Anne Pramaggiore, president and CEO of electric utility company ComEd, is a past speaker.

Women's Leadership Series

The Executives’ Club’s quarterly Women’s Leadership series, launched in 2004, has become Chicago’s largest speakers’ forum dedicated to the needs and interests of business and professional women. Its programs regularly attract 800 to 1,200 women and men who want to hear from remarkable women who are role models of success. Speakers are selected for their capacity to impart lessons of value to women at varying stages in their careers. Past speakers have included Associate Justice Sonia Sotomayor of the U.S. Supreme Court and Beth Brooke-Marciniak, EY’s global vice chair for public policy.

Business Technology Leadership Series

The Executives’ Club’s quarterly Business Technology Leadership series convenes leaders of established companies and startups to address technology strategy, innovation, return on investment, outsourcing, and security, with particular emphasis on leveraging technology to revitalize the regional economy. The conferences present interactive panels of CEOs, chief information officers, and senior leaders. The spring program features presentation of the CIO of the Year Award, conferred jointly by The Executives’ Club and the Association of Information Technology Professionals, to honor a CIO whose exceptional leadership drives business value, enhances customer service, builds business partnerships, and improves organizational effectiveness.

Innovation Series

Learning events, planned in conjunction with The Club’s Innovation Forum, highlight proven best practices, encourage collaboration, and spotlight Chicagoland innovation centers. At the forum’s October 2016 event, Chicago business icon J.B. Pritzker shared his take on shaping the city’s future in entrepreneurship and innovation. The Club and the Innovation Forum join forces each year to recognize an industry innovator with the Innovator of the Year Award before a large audience of business and civic leaders.

Annual Economic Outlook

The Annual Economic Outlook, which attracts around 2,000 attendees each year, has been a Chicago tradition for more than 30 years and is The Club’s most popular event. Each January, world renown economists and financial analysts share their insights about the global economy with Chicago business leaders at this entertaining and informative event. Hear these experts forecast on what they believe to be the best investment opportunities in the coming year. Guest speakers in 2016 included nationally recognized financial expert Terry Savage and Michael Gregory, deputy chief economist and head of U.S. Economics for BMO Capital Markets.
