Speaker:

  • Karin Norington-Reaves, CEO, Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership

The COVID-19 pandemic has made the economic disparities of Anglo-American communities compared to African American and Latinx communities bare, with many forced to risk exposure to afford basic needs, like housing, food, and utilities. Since its inception, The Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership (The Partnership) has been working to address racial equity through workforce initiatives that address the needs of both employers and job seekers.

Under Karin M. Norington-Reaves's leadership, The Partnership has responded to the COVID 19 pandemic with speed and intention, with the virtualization of all job seeker and employer services, the creation of free digital workshops and current job board featuring immediate employment opportunities. During this session, you’ll have the opportunity to hear from Karin about the ways The Partnership is dedicated to the equitable recovery of not just our local economy, but our communities as well, and the steps we can all be taking to further diversify the Chicago workforce landscape.
