BACKGROUND

The Executives’ Club is Chicago’s premier membership organization and business forum. The Club is a valued resource for Chicago’s business leaders - connecting members, providing opportunities for strategic relationship development, and enhancing exposure to the global business community thought leadership. Club membership is composed of senior level executives, including significant representation among CEOs of multinational corporations headquartered in the region, as well as professionals from Chicagoland’s business, civic, and academic communities. Founded in 1911, The Club is one of the nation’s oldest and most prestigious business organizations.


POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Member Engagement Associate is primarily responsible for corporate and individual recruitment at The Club including research, new member prospecting and sales.  The Member Engagement Associate will also provide logistical support for The Club’s leadership development programming.

In addition, this position will be required to support the Member Engagement department in a variety of different capacities including event support and other administrative projects as assigned. At times, this role may also be asked to support the Membership Associate with projects including but not limited to, data entry and maintaining the membership database in The Club’s CRM.


RESPONSIBILITIES

MEMBERSHIP SALES RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Research new member prospects and manage membership pipeline.
  • Work with Chief Member Engagement Officer to determine appropriate follow up for membership prospects.
  • Work with Chief Member Engagement Officer to brainstorm new membership promotions.
  • Schedule and participate in new member sales calls for both corporate and individual membership.
  • Coordinate post-event follow up process to recruit new members.
  • When necessary, conduct cold calls to member prospects to promote membership.
  • Maintain and update new member data in The Club’s CRM system.
  • Support the sales and promotion of the Leadership Development Workshop Series.
  • Attend and provide support for all programs and events
  • Must represent and embody the essence of The Club to all levels of membership and event guests

LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT PROGRAM SUPPORT

  • Provide administrative support for all leadership development programming, including workshops, mentorship programming and other leadership development programs.
  • Create database profiles and assist in onboarding for leadership development programs.
  • Responsible for all logistical work leading up to and after each event, Including researching potential locations, coordinating site visits, sourcing menus, ordering catering, overseeing registration, and packing materials for any off-site events (when we return to in-person events)
  • Draft communications to be sent to event attendees prior to and following each event
  • Attend and provide support for all programs and events
  • Help the Membership Associate stewardship projects as necessary including quarterly member outreach.
  • Must represent and embody the essence of The Club to all levels of membership and event guests


REQUIREMENTS

  • Four-year degree preferred; experience working with a corporation, non-profit organization, association, or trade group preferred

  • Event planning and/or project management experience is a plus
  • Highly effective organizer with outstanding attention to detail
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Inquisitive and interested in keeping abreast of current events on the local, national, and global scene
  • Self-starter who is able to handle multiple projects in varying stages of development and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work well in a team-oriented and fast-paced environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Internet search tools; knowledge of Abila/NetForum or other database software preferred
