The State of Chicago Real Estate and Development
2020 is sure to be a year of far-reaching change in the Chicago real estate landscape, starting with the appointment of former Detroit planning chief Maurice Cox to lead Chicago’s Planning and Development agency. He brings a wealth of experience in architecture, politics, and design education to the department tasked with equitable neighborhood growth, historic preservation, and various community development projects.
As the city builds upon a year that brought a new mayor, progress on mega developments like Lincoln Yards, explosive commercial growth in the West Loop and Fulton Market, hope for a Chicago casino, and the brand new Neighborhood Opportunity Fund, the local real estate and development community will look towards Commissioner Cox’s leadership as we aim to solve problems both new and old. Join The Executives’ Club Real Estate Forum on February 6th as we hear from the Commissioner on his outlook for future development in Chicago.
