In the summer of 2020, as the world grappled with COVID-19 and its myriad effects on businesses worldwide, The Executives’ Club of Chicago launched its Manufacturing and Supply Chain Forum to provide a space for the growing community of manufacturers, supply chain managers and heads of design and construction found in the Chicagoland area.
This Forum, which is Co-Chaired by Chandra Brown, CEO of MxD, Brad Keywell, Founder and CEO of Uptake and Barry McGoldrick, Vice President and Chief Procurement Officer for Molex, has provided these Co-Chairs the opportunity to curate panel discussions and meetings for leaders in the field to “share expertise as a public-private partnership with the rich innovation ecosystem of Chicagoland”, as Chandra notes.
This season the Manufacturing and Supply Chain Forum brought members together for a discussion about how Chicago’s academically rich community, world-class transportation network and dynamic workforce unite to make a leading hub for advanced manufacturing. In 2021, the Forum brings together a panel of supply chain experts for a discussion on what leaders can do to manage and mitigate threats from climate crises and geopolitical undercurrents while also addressing how to scale teams and leadership for successful risk management.
These conversations, according to our Co-Chairs, allow those working in these fields to “find commonalities and meet people you might not have otherwise. We hope that these connections will forge true business partnerships wherever possible among Forum members – as manufacturers, we are inclined to move from talking directly to making and doing, and that is where the magic happens.”
