The Executives’ Club of Chicago’s Healthcare Forum was a vital resource to Executives’ Club members working as leaders in HR, Benefit Planning, Wellness, Insurance and in administrative roles in hospitals and healthcare networks before Covid-19 hit, having hosted programs focused on changes in the healthcare industry as well as exploring the ever-changing healthcare infrastructure.
As Forum Co-Chair Craig Bartholomew, Executive Director of Illinois UnitedHealthcare Employer and Individual, notes, “Health care is such an essential part of our existence with continuous change that creates topics people want to discuss. I decided to get involved because being a Forum Co-Chair is a great way to interact with other professionals and leaders within our community to facilitate these discussions.”
When Covid-19 hit, the Healthcare Forum was quick to pivot to virtual programs that tackled how the healthcare community was working to handle the crisis from a variety of standpoints, addressing questions surrounding community health and partnerships, as well as digital shifts in healthcare. For Co-Chair Brian Walsh, Vice President of Managed Care at Northwestern Memorial Healthcare, this Forum could not be a better place for leaders in this sector, noting that “we are at a pivotal time in health care and the more knowledge you can gain through interacting with industry thought leaders is invaluable.”
One of the great benefits of participation in any Forum, is the ability for leaders within a given industry at various career stages the opportunity to connect and learn from one another, as Nitin Jain, Principal at ZS Associates notes. “In my Healthcare Forum Co-Chair role, I’m able to help create thought-provoking exchanges and connect members with the influential leaders helping to transform the healthcare and wellness ecosystem. It [has] provided me a great opportunity to meet up-and-coming young professionals and influential leaders who are shaping the future of the healthcare.”
