As The Executives’ Club entered its 96th year, we continued to provide relevant, timely programs that
reflect the business world’s best thinking, in a variety of forums that meet diverse needs and interests. Truly, this mix of ideas and formats is unique in Chicago!
At our popular CEO Luncheon Series, global business leaders share their corporate insights and philanthropic vision. These luncheons continue to draw the best and brightest from the world’s most important businesses. Wolfgang Mayrhuber of Deutsche Lufthansa AG and Glenn Tilton of United Airlines presented together on the global airline industry. Ken Lewis of Bank of America evaluated the present and future of the financial services industry. And Jim McNerny of 3M discussed Driving Growth in a Slow Growth World.
Our Chicagoland CEO Breakfast Series addresses the issues most relevant to our Chicagoland audience. Breakfasts feature local CEOs whose innovative strategies have enabled their companies to compete successfully by adapting to change quickly and efficiently. This year, speakers included John Rowe of Exelon and Bob Lane of Deere.
The Club’s outstanding new programs respond to changing times. In 2003, we introduced our Women’s Leadership Breakfasts, which showcase the many talented women leading Chicago business and provide a forum for sharing their perspectives. Our new Joint Breakfast Briefings enable committees to attract high profile local and national speakers and to address industry-specific topics in a more intimate setting. Recent programs have explored corporate governance, CEO compensation, human capital trends and Chicago’s liquidity and future as a financial hub. Our new quarterly CEO and CFO Off-the-Record Roundtables present a unique opportunity for Chicago-based CEOs and CFOs to engage in candid and informal discussion of senior executive-level issues.
